Making Outlines In Photoshop

Have you ever wanted to make one of those "perfect" outlines, instead of just having to take a brush and color around it? Well, then this is the tutorial for you. 1st, pick a photo, in this one, I used an unconverted maraquan uni. 2nd, open up a new file, but instead of making it the right side, make it a big bigger. For example, the picture is 150x150, so I put it at 175x175 =)

To see it bigger, just click and drag the photo to your adress bar

Okay, now paste your photo on to there and fill in all the white spaces with the magic wand (to select more then one, click shift).

Okay, now invert the space by clicking Ctrl>Shift>I all at the same time, then let go. Now, at the top tool bar, click Select>Modify>Expand, and expand by a certain amount, depending on the size. For this one, I would make it 2 px.

Now, once again, click Ctrl>Shift>I, and choose a color matching the image. Now, fill that space with that color. Ctrl>Shift>I again, and expand (Select>Modify>Expand) by another number pretty similar to the first. For this one, I used 3px.

Now for the last time, Ctrl>Shift>I, and click delete. Tada! Your outline is complete!
